Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet neighborhood situated in The West Island of Montreal is what you might call a "sleepy" area. Many people unfamiliar with the word often think that it's a separate island off the coast of Montreal However, in reality this part of West Island is home to every aspect of Lachine west to the City of Lachine west. There is an argument that it was the birthplace of Amanda Brugel but while that is the case, her stay there was not long. Brugel lived in Courtice close to Oshawa Ontario. She had a dream to become a professional dancer but because of a huge growth spurt she outgrew all of her dancing friends. The article she wrote about her experience revealed released by the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall, even when she wears heels. When I grew out of my male dancers, I quit. Former dancers often turn to acting, and Brugel was no exception. Drama teacher in her high school was able to push Bruce in the direction she needed. Her teacher suggested she audition to play the character of Anne for their school's annual production. She auditioned and eventually got the leading role in Anne of Green Gables. It was her turn to be awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to attend York University's Theatre Program, where she graduated at the age of 20 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Over the past 20 years since, Brugel has landed roles on over 60 plays on both screens, receiving the most media attention, when she was cast as Rita in the award-winning television series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel is the only Canadian for the Season 1 actors of the series and was only seen on occasion, was the sole Canadian.
